Weavile Joins Pokkén Tournament

The Dark/Ice Pokémon Joins the Upcoming Fighting Game!

The fan-favorite Pokémon will be a playable fighter in the upcoming Pokkén Tournament, an arcade fighting game developed by Namco Bandai and the Pokémon Company.
Weavile is one of the few Pokémon introduced that is not a legendary Pokémon and doesn’t have a Mega Evolution, alongside Pikachu.

Physically, weavile seems to be on the shorter side of the Pokémon, again, like Pikachu, which will make for some visually interesting battles. Its size is not just for show, it also seems to make it a hard target.
Weavile is also shown to be really fast with its big, sharp claws, which will make for some fast-paced gameplay and high-numbered combos.
Like the other Pokkén Tournament announcements, there’s no official YouTube upload, so here’s the trailer uploaded by the good folks at GameXplain:

Charizard Joins Pokkén Tournament

Everyone’s Favorite Fire Pokémon Joins the Fighting Game!

Charizard, the first and one of the most popular Fire Pokémon in the franchise, is set to be one of the playable fighters in the upcoming 3rd person fighting game.
The second fire starter showed so far.

If you have followed the Pokémon comunity for the past 20 or so years, you’ll know that Charizard is no doubt one of the most popular Pokémon in the world, so it should come as no surprise that he’d join this spin-off game.

Charizard seems to have some of the moves that you’d expect he’d have in a fighting game, like flamethrower and some attacks with his jaw and claws.
Like others in this game, Charizard has been given a more “natural” or “realistic” look to fit the more animal-like animations for this game. His mega-form has also been confirmed to appear in the game.
